My mom was told that the number of in-home nursing visits she will receive has been cut in half because of Medicaid cuts. She doesn’t get Medicaid coverage in general, but it covers a lot of the longer term Medicare benefits, apparently?

She broke her leg and had surgery a few weeks ago. She has good retirement health insurance after a lifetime of working for schools. She can afford help and I’m living with her to ensure she’s OK. I worry about the folks who don’t have those things.
Is she either 61 or 91 days past when she first entered the hospital and began a benefit period? Coinsurance coverages change at those two points.
She would have to spend down her assets and apply for Medicaid, and it’s a separate pot of money from Medicare, so it seems odd they’d be crossing over.
