Issue is, an artist name isn't enough now. There's been a handful of published games with an AI cover and a human artist listed and only later does the publisher "find out" they used AI. (So they claim, lotta of these seem obvious/suspicious to me) show folks you vetted with the icon.

We are concerned about this. Currently all of our art is done by trusted people we know. But for our next project we expect to hire out and we are only seeking traditional art. 1. We like to buy the originals and 2. A level of security against AI assistance.

yeah, it's not easy to trust folks in the way you'd like to. i completely understand that. Hopefully if publishers are upfront about what they want, artists respect that, and deliver real goods and not just spit out junk for the next check. the pressure has to be so real for some folks.
