Lagrange confirmed that for months, she knew about serious allegations about contracting irregularities as raised by the AHS CEO. She says she did not tell the premier because she didn't have all the facts.

Asked whether she knew what Marshall Smith was doing, the premier said he will have to speak for himself. She said Marshall handled some of her social policy files & she would understand if he put pressure on agencies to move more quickly on executing government policies (incl private surgeries).
Smith says she has confidence in Lagrange, and insists that the health minister had nothing to do with procurement decisions and has been pushing for answers about any problems and “footdragging.”
When asked whether she had any problems with Lagrange withholding alleged problems with contracting, Smith basically said that the ends (getting more private surgeries) justify the means. If there are problems with the procurement process, we need to remove the people at AHS who caused them: Smith.
The thing is, neither Smith nor Lagrange have any credibility. It's fairly safe to say that what comes out of their mouths is self-serving spin, propaganda, or outright lies, informed or otherwise. I don't believe a word either of them says anymore. About anything
Thanks for summarizing what must have been a nauseating deluge of 🐂💩. Why do cons always think they can get away with this 💩? Why is their approach of governance always about someone making a buck? The U🤡P are such a••holes.
The external 3rd-party review into the scandal will likely take 4-6 months: Smith. Lagrange will remain Health minister as there is an “ethical wall” between her and the wrongdoing. Lots of questions, few answers, about what that "wall" is, or how the Minister and DM are on the right side of it.
If they aren't going to make public the name of the 3rd party "independent" reviewer (as they previously stated), then the process is not transparent. They seem to be taking their time coming up with one. #abpoli

Darth Hideous?
Asked point-blank whether they received kickbacks as part of the contracting scheme, Smith and Lagrange laughed and said no.
