The day I woke up and learned the results of the Brexit vote, my instant thought was "shoot yourself in the foot much", and it has not changed one iota since then. Why Labour keeps insisting the referendum was holy is totally beyond me. Come home to the EU, UK! We left a light on.
The Labour position is pragmatic I'm afraid - don't create yet another attack position for the rightwing media (that's most of it) - sadly the only way at the moment.
They seem to be voluntarily and involuntarily creating multiple attack positions for the right wing media. Some are just sensible policies, some are cack handed and unnecessary missteps. They have said they want a closer working relationship. Perhaps that’s all that can be achieved anyway.
Tbh anything they do will be attacked. The only course is to be resolute I'm afraid. I've never seen anything like the attacks from all sides in the past 5 months.
But don't you think that if Labour got its big boy pants on and organized a second referendum, the result would be very much different than it was in 2016?
Like those deniers of the M.E. nightmare as an engineered outrage created to divide the west and reduce support for the very stated genocide being perpetrated in Ukraine, Africa etc by the Putin/Xi empires of doom.
Look at the bright side. Your national health service now has around 87 billion quid, plus interest, in their bank account. Richest health service in the world.
How much is the British taxpayer going to continue to pay the EU for the pensions of the British MEPs, whose principles didn't extend to refusing all the benefits of the EU 'gravy train'?
Some people didn't lose out when we left the EU
Probably comes under the 'that's different' heading

EVERYONE knows that brexiters do not have their heads stuck in the sand but up their own arseholes.
"Head in the sand..."

They haven't learnt. Support has shifted to the same person who promised and failed that leaving the EU was the solution
If you want to rejoin be realistic like our pragmatic PM
