Don't think that it's so much cozying up to Putin as it is dividing the world into spheres of influence: Russian, Chinese and American. (Think Yalta 1945.) Ukraine is in Russia's backyard. If that's what's happening, we should see Trump try to reach an "understanding" with Beijing concerning Taiwan.
