Yes, you can hide the system bars using immersive mode, which bring them back temporarily with a swipe for a perfect UX

For everything! Android 15 will soon enforce fullscreen only, we’re all enforced to have transparent status bar and navigation bar on Android, which is great, as it gives the same experience as iOS and we finally can treat both Systems the same when it comes to insets.
