Speaking of shut the fuck up Friday, I’ve been seeing some people say that the FBI has contacted them for questioning after seeing social media posts, and my extremely urgent advice is that you should under NO CIRCUMSTANCES talk to the Feds without a lawyer.

This is an important point because the SC has ruled that remaining silent is not the same thing as invoking your 5th amendment right to remain silent.

And do not under any circumstances invoke w/ extra words. The SCt says literal interpretations apply even if insane. "I want a lawyer, dawg" was construed as wanting a lawyer who's a dog, despite the ludicrousness of that. Invoke the 5th verbatim, ask for a lawyer verbatim.

Ex-Leo here, never give permission for Cops in your house or car. When stopped & questioned on the street just give your ID answer no questions. If the contact lasts too long ask if you are under arrest, if answer is no walk away.

…if you are being questioned and made to sit in a Patrol car the door must remain open with your feet able to touch the road. If not you are technically under arrest. When all else fails ask to speak to a Police Supervisor.
