Reading “It Can’t Happen Here,” by Sinclair Lewis. Some writing is timeless. I kind of wish this work by Lewis was not, and that we’d evolved beyond fascism.
I know many folks see Mike Judge as the One True Seer (and who could blame them), but going back through some of Carl Sagan’s interviews about what he believed America would one day become is absolutely eerie.
I just recently reread Steinbeck’s The Pearl. I camped w my family on Puerto Penasco beach (Rocky Point, Mexico) w a Mex family we met there when I was in 7th grade the first time I read it. It resonates pure transcending adventure and spirit to me.
