My going rate is $1/hr for AAA titles, since it is always at least $60. For indie games I will happily triple that and pay $3/hr. There is no way on earth I would play a Nintendo game for 90 hours, except maybe Zelda, and buying a whole new system on top of that? Absolutely not.

I'm *okay* with high prices if the game is fun. It's def a privileged take, but I try my best to not associate a game's value with the price.

Like I had a really fun time playing TLOU Part 1. Was $70, and like maybe 13-15 hours, but it was so worth it to me 💝

My thing is, I can always wait for the game to go on sale. The problem there is Nintendo games rarely go on sale 😭 so $80 will be the norm it seems.

Hopefully Nintendo sees the backlash this is causing and they scale back on that a bit. We shall see...

Same here. I got a Switch, played Mario Kart and Super Mario World, then it started collecting dust. I have way too many games in my backlog on my PS5. So I'm fine with waiting a year or 2 before getting this system.

I really don’t mind if that 10 hours is incredible.

I’ve gotten a lot more out of some 10-12hr games than I have sprawling 40+ epics sometimes.

Plus the cost of games has been around the 40-50 mark for a long time now. It was inevitable it would start creeping up.

It really really depends on the game. But most of the time I don't love a game that much. Except a few, diablo, mh, sims etc. And I think everyone has a few they will always buy full price ❤️ oh uncharted was so darn good. Hellblade even if it was only 6 hours damnnn what a game.

exactly!! i’ve dumped over 200 hours in persona 5 and i would happily pay 80 bucks for that.

yeah, high price points only make sense to me if it’s an open world game or a game that’ll take up MANY hours of my time! otherwise… i’ll wait for a sale! 😅

The higher price of the games is what made me decide to wait a couple of months. I can eat the extra 20,- on the one time purchase but not on dozens of them. 😬
However: my usual place list DK's preorder only 5,- more than the expect 70,-. I hope competitive pricing will save my ass here.🤞

I could justify the 60,- to myself. I can't do the same with 80,-. I really, really want to know if the market will except these prices. Part of waiting is because I want to see how 3rd parties price their games, if stuff like Hyrule Warrios will be cheaper and how retailers wil price the games.

Oh really🤔. Here in the UK a physical copy of a console game is more often than not at least £5-£10 cheaper than a digital copy.

Unfortunately seems like it’s opposite in US and Nintendo looking to drive that up more, I have no idea why although I know printing the game is sometimes too expensive
