Republicans have said for years how they would target Hunter. They control too much now. Biden was smart in ensuring his safety. It's foolish to think you wouldn't protect your loved ones from the bullies on the playground if you could.

I think the broader issue the other guy is pointing to is why we tolerate it from the president at all. We may think to put ourselves in their shoes but at some point we need to set our empathy aside and come to terms with what the presidency is. 1/

The president is supposed to be someone who can set aside his own interests in favor of doing what he believes has greatest benefit for the masses. While I agree democrats are held to a far higher standard than republicans and that shouldn't be permissible to anyone, POTUS is a public servant. 2/

He needs to be held to a higher level of scrutiny than any one person because his duty is to preserve, defend and put forth policy that secures our liberties and our future. Unfortunately, we no longer value those attributes as a majority. Instead, we tolerate bad behavior and dismiss corruption.

Which is the core of the issue but fails to explore its parameters. Whether Trump or Biden, the standard ought to be the same and the bar higher than for an average person. As it stands, the bar is higher for Biden and sitting on the floor for Trump, but that doesn't make what either did right.
