Yes, quite a few… The Mofi ones are often worth finding and they still release on SACD… your problem now is finding a good spinner for them… I bought pre-owned…

I’ve got a Sony Blu-ray player that plays them. I’ve Pink Floyd’s DSOTM, WYWH and Animals and about 6 Genesis ones. Need a good surround sound set up now but the girlfriend is a stumbling block 🤣 Any recommendations?

The SACD’s, of course, use DSD rather than PCM for the stream… and if you buy something just for the SACD then it might not play blu-ray as it might be too old… and I find many new multi disk spinners are dropping SACD capability… it’s a niche product now but some SACD’s are fantastic versions…

I did my research on a multi disk spinner and this was what was recommended for what I wanted. I’ve a soundbar that does Dolby surround, Dolby Atmos and PCM multi channel. It’s probably the best I’m going to get 🤣 it has tidal connect so can play direct hi-res stereo and Atmos tracks

Some modern sacd’s have a second CD layer that will play (16bit) on a CD player… but that kind of defeats the object of having the sacd..!

With the advent of streaming etc it’s a challenge building up a kit that spans across decades of changing tech… I still have my DAT player (albeit it needs a service)… and a cassette player…

Sounds great… Your blu-ray player will (i suspect) be converting the dsd sacd data to either pcm if you are digital out.. or to analog if you are feeding an amp directly… the old Sacd players did the DA conversion outputting an analog feed… they do not output dsd digital… they convert to pcm…

I don’t actually play them in surround, only stereo… snd I use an old Arcam FMj multi disk spinner so it’ll play most of the odd disks in different formats… HDCD, SACD, DVD-Audio etc… lovely player… hot it for about 15% of whst it’s original owner would have paid for it…
