When we talk about the role conspiracy theories serve for the average true believer, yes, by all means, emphasize empathy.

Have to disagree with "If you make it trend you make it true." The Social Architects had trending down to a fine art. They promoted CSR causes and failed to catalyze change. Gaming the algorithm is not enough.

Empathy helps us understand that these are damaged, hurt humans who should be taken to a place where they can be safe and learn to be good humans.
It doesn't mean that we should enable their destructive behavior.
