Nosferatu and Sinners have brought vampires back into the pop culture zeitgeist; but not like we are used to. Vampires are now truly monstrous in our current depictions (no more Edward Cullens). I think it is a reflection of our real culture (i.e. the hoard of vampires in the oligarchy) right now.
