I'm just gonna say it Iwata death is the Stephen Hillenburg of gaming discourse and we should make fun of people using it as point just like how we make of cartoon fans using Stephen has a point
I think everyone in this situation is stupid. The haters need to stop acting like this doesn’t happen with every game company, and the supporters have to understand Nintendo isn’t our friend, it’s a corporation. And corporations are the enemy.
corporations are also people as business has to be done even if we don't all agree with it(switch 2 isn't much priced from normal/people where whining about 60 to even $40/20 games.)as you can support a company even with flaws, long as they aren't horrible like warner/way worse playstation price.
Corporations aren’t people. They only focus on money, and are run by greed. Any “people” in it are usually workers, not the people who run the corp themselves. It’s an organization of people.
Also, I never said you can’t buy switch games? And the games aren’t 60 bucks, they’re 90 bucks. Lol
nintendo is becoming more despicable as a company than ever and you want to pretend the illogical ones are the ones criticizing them over the ones defending them?
Considering people are constantly making things up to be mad about, yeah pretty much. There's multiple real things to be mad about, no need to make things up.
Just yesterday someone tried to convince me it's Nintendo's fault SEGA is refusing to allow upgrade paths for their games.
They're also making things up to defend the evil multi billion dollar company that's trying to sue an indie company because they want to pretend they own a gameplay concept, just because they're jealous some gamers are preferring Palworld over pokemon, but I don't see you complaining about that
The issue is that a lot of the criticisms are over things that literally every other company is doing, or just not even trying to understand why something isn't a particular way. Like hall effect sticks not being in the new joyconns... THERE'S ALREADY MAGNETS IN THEM, they wouldn't work properly!
Yes, be critical, but also be fair and understanding. "the game key cards"... long gone are the days of inserting a fresh game and playing it immediately instead it needs to install and/or update day 1, if it's even in a state that can be called playable [looking at you, Jedi: Survivor, Pokemon SV].
Also, the language here being based on Trump Derangement Syndrome, a degrading term used to dismiss criticism of Donald Trump, doesn’t make me inclined to want to take it seriously.
You are aware that the original derangement syndrome was essentially a very poor attempt at gaslighting people into thinking they're weird for hating Trump, right? Maybe it's a joke I'm missing because I came from the discover tab, but the whole point of it was that you're supposed to hate him.
I would mention a chief perpetrator of this, but I don't want their fans going after me.
Lord knows they fall under Fisher King Activism:Forever wounded & in pain in some form, blames immaterial concepts for everything by ascribing god-like powers to such that are paradoxically easily resisted.
It works both ways though. The way some Nintendo fanboys are so indoctrinated into the Cult of Nintendo that they'll overlook everything wrong that Nintendo does.
Nintendo changed their EULA to say that fans can no longer join a class action against them and have to go through arbitration instead
This is done because Nintendo know that in cases where arbitration is required, they're more than likely going to win, they're paying for it after all.
They also have the right to brick the console you're paying £400 for, hardware that YOU OWN, they still have the right to stop you using it
All game companies are scummy at times, Sony brought on the age of £70 games, Nintendo have one-upped them and gone for £80-£90 with their "variable pricing" bullshit and so far Microsoft have agreed to follow, Sony will be next.
Nintendo do also have some games that obviously needed more QA time
I'm literally buying a Switch 2 for Pokemon Legends ZA and whatever the next generation of games is going to be, but lets be honest, Scarlet and Violet had an issue when you went to Casseroya Lake where the framerate dipped to single digits, Legends Arceus had major texture pop in issues too
I'm with you, Skyward Sword HD should've been $40, not 60, Echoes of Wisdom should've been the same, Tears of the Kingdom was a game whose story was betrayed by design, and above all, Switch Welcome Tour... actually I've moved on from that, it's demo software.
The issue is that if you're actually putting forward a real complaint, as in it's at least vaguely verifiable, people won't shut you down, and if they do, you can just ignore those people.
You have the obvious issue though where people are just straight up parroting untrue info for bandwagon fun.
So when I raise the issue that selling physical cards with nothing but a code to download a game removes you from owning anything and you’re at the mercy of when they shut down the Switch 2 servers, or that being able to brick your Switch 2 is inherently a bad practice, those aren’t real complaints?
First time I've talked to you so again I obviously lack full context. Do you believe that's a real thing cause it's historically been shown to be a real thing causing real world lawsuits in regards to games becoming lost media cause they don't have true physical copies?
If you're being shutdown over THAT then the people shutting you down aren't worth your time, cause that's evidently a real cause of concern. See prior: If it's actually verifiable people will likely straight up agree with you, it more has to do with things like the 90$ to 100$ physical misinfo.
There's obviously others but like, you can probably guess that I'm supportive of you and agree with your concern, the issue is that there is a very clear line between that, which is real and happened, and other "Critiques" that just aren't founded. And if they disagree with that? Screw em.
Uh, my understanding is that the license cards, while still requiring you to download the game itself, obviate the need for servers once the game is downloaded because the cards ARE the activation key.
Being able to reach through the internet and brick your Switch is absolute dogshit tactics, tho.
Or signing my right to sue individually or as part of a class action lawsuit and go to forced arbitration is anti consumer, is that the “right” type of complaint?
EULA's regularly get destroyed in court cause they can't actually force you to do that. I also have zero clue why you are being defensive with me when I'm literally poised to agree with you cause, again, you can PROVE these complaints, which is evidently not the issue in discussion.
Constructive criticism is one thing, blind hatred is another. And this is coming from someone who actually agrees with others on things like Mario Kart costing $80 for seemingly no reason. Which is why I will either get the bundle or cut my losses and just get the system itself. 🤷♂️

Like, no kidding, touch grass and don’t use false info.
But you don’t need false info to be angry at this company. Is there really enough unearned vs valid hatred going on to justify this term?
Lord knows they fall under Fisher King Activism:Forever wounded & in pain in some form, blames immaterial concepts for everything by ascribing god-like powers to such that are paradoxically easily resisted.
They don't accept the ultimate truth that socialism is the only way to save the world.

"Nintendo shill" this, "Nintendo hater" that; I just want to play my games, for Pete sake.
Males or hard to have any discourse.

Especially the fine print at the bottom.
