UGH. I don't know how we can educate people about the difference between "freedom of speech," and "directly harmful." Statements clearly attributable to him are statements which would get him fired if he said them in a classroom or lab.

If a student said these things online they would be suspended with a LE threat assessment assigned. It’s some really awful things, like advocating the death of other faculty, while also filming himself breaking into secure places while heavily armed

I’ve had multiple former students tell me they felt unsafe around him, and this was before he was outed as a nazi. Cause he’s also a creep and an asshole. I can’t imagine how his current grad students feel, since it’s likely they are afraid for their grades to speak out about anything
