Interesting. Finlandssvensk. To Swedes from Sweden, the Finnish-Swedish dialect sounds like when we listen to RP English from old 1930s films. Stuck in time and familiar but odd.

I learned Swedish-Swedish but then had to adapt a bit to Finnosh-Swedish. There are definitely Swedish words that fell out of common use decades ago that are still used in Finland. Fascinating, isn't it?

I think also many Swedes forget there are native Swedish speakers in Finland. And I've noticed my Swedish-speaking friends in Finland prefer to speak English when visiting Stockholm as I suspect they think Swedes look down on them a wee bit.
