That’s a fellow Vegan that looks like he just might go AWOL and stop these factory farm subsidies that, under Trump, may cause the next pandemic! Medicare cut just in time for some bird flu funded by your tax money!
Thanks! It’s so bad! We need to filibuster against animal ag next! The fact that we’re cutting people’s Medicare but paying with taxpayer money to FUND a pandemic while we cut protections to contain said pandemic is insane! Here’s a clip! We are going to kill off all the old people!!!
I'm not making excuses for anyone - still mad at a few - but it's "almost" like a reset for him. other DNC folks need waist ZERO time hopping on this train
It’s because he’s all talk. He’ll do this shit to raise his profile hoping no one would notice he didn’t use any of his actual senatorial power to do anything. Literally performance art.
Yeah, but words speak louder than silence and inaction. Not saying it’s a great thing, or that he’s heroic for doing it, but the bar is pretty low right now.
It's a lone man speaking the words of his constituents to tell the void that is your government what real people are experiencing. It's worthwhile and it's oh-so needed right now.
Kinda cannot stop watching. He is speaking the words & radiating the wisdom of generations; past, present, and future. Maybe with @aoc.bsky.social, & @sanders.senate.gov, @booker.senate.gov 'S leadership WOULD help all Americans meet this moment. This is what TRUE leadership looks like.
The fact he stated he hasn't quite risen to this occasion but is now committed caught my attention and respect.
Because up until yesterday, what the fuck?
Am i missing something here? Why are Democrats getting so excited about this? It is performative and will make no difference, other than to have MAGA/Trump sycophants mock him. Barely any better than holding up paddle signs at the SOTU speech. Get out into the streets on April 5 in your millions...
I do think you are missing something. What you call performative, others call symbolic in this context. (Technically, all Rosa Parks did was sit, right?) The longest Senate speech ever given has the potential to inspire collective resistance, and for that reason alone, it's an action worth taking.
I think I have been clear that at first I thought it was performative but after watching more I realised it was of historical significance and have written as much here. As I have said, what happens next will be important and it is up to the Democrats to seize the moment. Also get rid of Schumer too
Until and unless he calls for Schumer’s resignation, Booker is an empty suit. He’s also just giving a speech to nobody—this is not a real filibuster of any Senate business
Now hold your horses here. Have you listened to him reading the letters? Because damned if those aren't real letters. He is finally getting it through his skull, in order to progress. You need to fight. I hope, I truly saw a fire behind those eyes when I was just watching him.
Sadly, they unanimously voted for Rubio. At least he’s trying to be better. Just hoping this experience helps him be less “centrist” (establishment Dem)
He’s had some dogshit positions and I still consider him a corporate sellout but he occasionally does progressive things. I would like more of this though.

Also how the heck am I just following you now?!?
You were lost in the great migration from the bad place.
There are tons of valid criticism, but this will play very, very well in the attention economy. Take the wins where we can get em.
Better than Patrick Batema... er Gov. Newsome.
He is team DEM 💯 after that 💩 show vote!!
Lady Justice will not be silenced! Not on our watch
Actions speak louder than words.
