The US have not been good allies during the time that I've been aware of geopolitics. During WWII the US citizens didn't really want to help the UK or Europe, so lendlease was used. Since then they've dragged their 'allies' into numerous unnecessary wars for US centric goals. 1/2

The fallout from the Vietnam War in the far east (where I lived) and in Australia is still affecting so many people and didn't really achieve anything. Vietnam is communist and the world didn't end. The hypocrisy of Trump cosying up to Putin now is next level. I now think Xi has better ethics.
