I think the yellow-bellied marmots may regret coming out of hibernation so early.

It's usually the males that come out of hibernation first so they are probably saying "I'm not cold, you're cold, I could do this all day!"
I've seen several marmots, and some were out as early as last month. I was very surprised to see them in January! We're at a pretty low elevation, and it had been unusually warm until a recent cold snap. Most of the ones I've seen look like big males, but a couple are noticeably smaller.
