Rogue city was a surprising charmer of a game. Ended up loving a lot of the incidental missions where robo has the choice to break protocol; and with the way the plot goes in the ending, I feel like it’s overall a much more satisfying robocop 3 than the real one.

The explication of how Robo retains his empathy/sanity while other cyborgs don’t, is another thing I really like. The final boss’s monologue right beforehand is a pretty succinct summary of everything it’s “got going on”.

Yeah! Pickles, the therapy sessions, and the ending with the Old Man were really great. The whole Afterlife project is kinda culling from C2077 but the Good Robo path is very satisfying narratively

I really love how the Old Man gives off predatory cruel vibes that he plasters over with a pretty smile…and then in the end it turns out he really is JUST the screaming, seething avarice, incapable of even forming coherent thoughts. Destroying the OCP building and him was very satisfying.

It's got immersive elements, rewards you more for not MDKing an entire stage, has wide-open missions with a ton of side content that all feeds into the main content, and grades you based on how closely you play to your specific role in the game/story.

It might not be as stealthy as Thief, or as, well, devoted to larceny, but as far as tight-focus Looking Glass-style immersive first-person adventures go, its tighter focus and eschewment of the wider open-world that comes from ImSim play has a lot of the same flavor and mechanics as Dark Project.

Surprisingly pretty too, for a mid tier game. Totally worth its price point, esp if you love the franchise, and i agree more developers should take notes on how to make a compelling gameplay loop and story without blowing up the budget or slathering raytracing all over it

Yeah it looked really good. The wet streets and reflections were stunning. No corners cut, they just knew they couldn't do a big open world on that budget so they kept the detail where it mattered. Smart move

definitely paid loving attention where they could. While it's not Alien: Isolation quality, they really lean into the cyberpunk aesthetic of the movie well. Also action scenes are awesome when there's particle effects filling the room and the targeting reticle is flying around and shit

For sure. The only parts where it feels like you're too slow are in the Old Detroit streets, which is kind of a pacing issue, but in the actual missions you don't notice it at all. Really great while counterintuitive to conventional FPS games
