The UK is ground down & people are angry after over a decade of austerity. We voted for change last year, & economic & social renewal, not more of the same.

But also it is right to tackle the welfare bill. It is increasing at a huge rate - both in terms of numbers and in terms of cost.
And unless something changes it is set to rise by tens of billions in the coming years.

That is the right way to cut the overall bill.
But sadly, there is too much speculation and fear mongering in the media.

I agree that welfare & many other institutions need reforming but you need to fly the plane whilst redesigning it. Otherwise people suffer.
