#Interestingly Van McCoy started out in the late '50s, eventually working with Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller (before going his own way.) He had hundreds of song credits & produced for recording artists like David Ruffin, Gladys Knight & the Pips, and Aretha Franklin. #OneHitWondering #MusicSky

On June 29, 1979, Van McCoy suffered a heart attack at his home in New Jersey. He died a week later, on July 6th, at the age of 39.
