That seems like such a wrong use for AI. If you suddenly have high-intensity use, something is probably wrong with your health. That's when you need insurance most!

Totally agree. This is me hypothesizing here but it seems to me that the insurer is just worried about keeping costs down.

It really seems like it should balance out and we should be given some grace when calamity strikes. The insurance business is supposed to be about balance and distribution of risk, not just denying as many claims as possible. Thus, there should be give and take by person and population.

It's a good point. My concern is that with AI, it will amplify unfair practices and will disproportionately result in more denied claims. The AI could be very effective at identifying "heavy users" of insurance as targets.
