I always love seeing comments like this because if you heard my voice now compared to 5 years ago, there IS a noticeable difference!

But even then, the frequency of my voice doesn't make me any less (or more) of a woman! Even if my voice isn't perfect, I'm a woman because that's WHAT I AM. 🏳️‍⚧️✨

This person hasn't been around many women. Like clearly they've never seen a movie/show that Shohreh Aghdashloo is in, her voice is VERY deep and raspy and it's lovely. Women aren't all the same, my dude

I stopped voice training when I realized I was going through a whole bunch of uncomfortable shit for the sole benefit of making cis people feel comfortable

I only did it to make myself more comfortable. Because I don't want to have to deal with the potential fallout of others' discomfort, if that makes sense.

And let's be real, even if you did painstakenly train your voice like they want, they'll just find another excuse to be transphobic and refuse to respect you and your pronouns.

Not to mention that I've seen plenty of cis woman around who have voices that are way deeper than most trans women I've ever seen, the way a person's voice sound is so irrelevant to wether or not someone is a woman, it's funny.

I was just going to say this. It might just be the woke mind virus taking hold, but I don't see the point of voice training. I know women with deeper pitch and timbre than some men, cis and trans alike. I'm not sure what it even means for a voice to "pass"

I'm always getting mistaken for a woman over the phone. Used to be really self-conscious about it, at some point something just went *click* and I stopped trying to pitch myself lower.

Still get self-conscious when I get excited and start talking through my sinuses in stereotypical nerd, though.
