Serious question, because I'm seriously contemplating it....
... I've never played the first two Fallout games. I'm familiar with the mechanics, and I've watched small snippets over the years.
Is it worth the time to dive in and play them now? π€ Not for nostalgia's sake. I'm genuinely curious.

Both F1 and F2 use a time counter. F1 has a water chip /no water time counter, F2 has a village facing starvation counter.
I was a bit too poor to nab it when it first came out, so I had to be very selective with my game purchases.
I've heard the writing in 2 is terrific!
If anything, I just want a good story. π
Tactics is a different beast, but decent nonetheless.
I really should give 4 another shot at some point.
1 and 2 look very interesting, but I was unsure on how well it's structured. I've played a lot of old RPGs that were way too cryptic for me to enjoy. π©
as for 4? yeah i feel ya on that front, bethesda's writing capabilities, well. they need a bigger writing team overall.
But the writing and feeling of the first two games is phenomenal
I really want to experience these classics before going back and replaying 3 and NV.
After her negative experience with Divinity, she's kinda worried that the old Fallouts may be equally cryptic in their adventures.
