The idea being that it's easier to control people who do not have access to knowledge, which is why universities/schools, museums, and libraries are facing some of the first waves of attack. First you cut off access to knowledge. Then you replace with highly controlled and revised knowledge.

Yesterday the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services was required to be "eliminated to the maximum extent consistent with applicable law," and required to "reduce the performance of their statutory functions and associated personnel to the minimum presence and function required by law"
