They also have a quite remarkable, absolutely enormous, ancient Roman floor mosaic with all kinds of animals depicted. It may be the most magnificent I've ever seen and you never hear about it. (It's a great little museum but their labels are the worst. "Here's an Ancient Greek thing of some sort.")
His skill with watercolour is unbelievable - they are so light and well-drawn. Winslow Homer is another amazing watercolourist, but he doesn't have the same light touch.
I've seen photographs of Great Lakes Freighters, and I've seen watercolors. When I view the watercolors, I feel the cold air, the icy water, and threatening sky.
