Thread:

1. OSHA has ordered the digital and physical destruction of 18 publications on workplace safety practices, according to an email obtained by Popular Information.

The email says the publications have been removed from the web and tells staff that physical copies should be "disposed of or recycled"

I think it’s more widespread than that. If a safety manager in a business is responsible for developing and maintaining safe systems of work for employees, then they no longer have a framework to operate within.

They might be able to develop processes and procedures off their own back…

…but they will struggle to create an ALARP environment, enforcement is impossible without overarching regulations and there’s no basis by which you could prosecute someone for breaches.

I guess it’s different in the US, but it should be the business’s responsibility to create the protections not the regulatory agency. The agency checks that the safety management system is effective and aligned to the law.

Businesses now appear to have been given permission to ignore safety.
