The best outcome of the brief Connolly-AOC caucus contest is the lack of acrimony. Two years ago, it would have seemed factionally existential. Let's keep this up.

Don’t you think the Democrat establishment clinging to their positions/power make the fight for Democracy sound hollow. In a healthy Democracy people change positions all the time
“Hey guys we are flat on our back as a party and we have a chance to put our most magnetic star since Obama in a high profile position directly taking on Trump. What do you think we should do???”
“Let’s snuff her out and promote a 75 year institutionalist nobody’s ever heard of!”
It might be, if we had a TV star as the ranking member. If the last election taught us anything, it’s that substance < vibes. Don’t we want as many eyeballs as possible on the misdeeds of the incoming administration or nah?
I guess my only point is it’s in our interest to elevate our stars, especially now. I’m not even a huge AOC fan, but I recognize her talent and charisma. We are badly in need of new messengers who understand how today’s information environment works.
obviously we move on but they still should be called out.
Pelosi mastered her craft as a politician but she stayed too long, she only stepped down because of the violence towards her & her family. Feinstein didn’t even know what was going on, McConnell is having mini strokes on camera & falling
My husband, who has never voted anything but Dem his entire 60 yrs just said "I will never vote Dem again," after I told him about this AOC loss. Dem continuing investment in weak leadership will kill us all. I promptly told him, "It's fascism or weak defense against fascism," as if that was better.
I know. He's all talk. My point for sharing this is my husband is smart, but angry. There is lots of stupid and angry out there. I can't count on my husband being alone in these types of feelings. You know? This is an issue we need to deal with before 2026. Dems need a fighter they can root for.
Because we’ve chosen an elderly man with the form of cancer that directly inhibits speech to lead our oversight efforts over the most gifted communicator in the Dem caucus….
