I’d be curious to know if other fast food places are experiencing this drop, because I know my family gave up McD’s bc of the boycott called for by BDS on behalf of Gaza & the Palestinian people

The Food Network no longer teaches us to cook unless it’s 4 random items you grab at a dollar store and have twenty minutes to whip up a dish that will satisfy three professional chefs.

Folks are doing what they can with what they got for who they love while working a third job AT a fast food job.

I think about how much their prices have gone up as well. If you have a smartphone and app, it is a little better. Of course, that is another barrier that not all people have access to.

I hope people are deciding if they are going to spend 10 bucks on a fast food meal they pick another restaurant.

There was a successful boycott organised last year. There may be lingering effects of that. It could be compounded by people being fed up with being forced to use apps or annoying kiosks just to get a better price on a meal. Greggs has been struggling too, financial precarity is probably a factor.

Did they do that to help Palestine or did they do it to avoid giving away free food? I know what I've come to expect from corporations and it's not generosity towards my fellow man. I notice that those places in Israel are all still contributing tax revenue to the Israeli government.

I had forgotten about that. That boycott is more active in majority Muslim countries though. I doubt it is the cause of the dip in US sales.

I think it's a combination of factors here. 1st, McDonalds isn't that cheap anymore. 2nd, there were some attempts at boycotting McDonalds last year, which I *think* are still happening?
