I am sat at home hearing the wind hit my roof and rustling the trees near me... As I wonder why the night rate is not lower.

It's acceptable, but I would expect lower given the winds

So "excess" power sold rather than used to lower bills?
(Which would suck after we put up with 99p rates the other week)
Must admit I was hoping to have my heating on before I saw the rates are not as low as I hoped.

It’s not excess if there is a demand for it. We see lower prices and negative etc if there is no demand for it and people are prepared to subsidise its consumption.

Spose so. Just been some bad pricing over the last few weeks. (Hell over the last couple of years. I miss Poples Energy and my 12p per kWh (standing charge was 20p I think... Not sure)
I miss affordable electric.
