Tomato Energy Lifestyle looks interesting. In the north east it’s 5p from midnight to 6am, 14p 10am to noon and from 10pm to midnight and 24.3p all other times. 45p standing charge

Did do a quick look... I can only get tomato prime. I am on the first gen smart meter... Fine for agile, but things like octopus mini are incompatible so guessing there's some tech missing in it.

Hoping when the weather changes agile weill go back to what it was pre winter.... Just painful holding out. I am still saving compared to standard... Mostly as I am going with out running a lot of things.

I did ask @octopus.energy a couple of years ago(ish, may have been longer) so that I could have octopus mini, was told not possible and that octopus mini would support my meter soon, believed them lol so didn't push it.

That sounds interesting but what's the catch other than noob till 2200 being so high?
I keep hoping @octopus.energy will price agile fairly again. I still can't afford standard rate. Most times I just can't use electricity. What am I working for when I can't afford to even cook?

The only obvious catch is that the company is nowhere near as big as others so more chance of hiccups. But for me, their peak rate is a fraction of a pence cheaper than Intelligent’s Go peak rate. The other downside is that you’ll lose the bonus hours that you might get with IO.

Although the last 2 months have been painful, with no solar/batteries we have saved £200 over 12 months vs SVT.

Who knows what the future holds for the rates because gas still holds all the cards when the rates are decided unfortunately.

It does feel like we’re somewhat being punished for not having‘renewable tech’ in our homes, either people cannot afford the out lay or they’re in rental accommodation.

The cosy tariff would suit our lifestyle tbh

My leccy bill just cannot sustain this anymore sadly, it feels like I'm paying through the nose to help the grid when it used to be the other way round, back to Flux for me until the situation improves.
