It's extremely frustrating that ppl do this bc these apps are also vital to keep disabled ppl alive/any semblance of their needs met (having a built community/network really is one) & there's A LOT of intersection

Ppl need to step back from yelling & understand ppl need a little time to rebuild

Yeah & like ALLLL the mutual aid groups that I can think of that worked with my local community were pretty much solely on IG. Like the one that goes & gets vet care to unhoused people's pets & helps them during sweeps, the one that gets water & trash services to unhoused ppl & the rez, etc. Big hit

I'm sure each community is different, I have no doubt that a ton were built around tiktok. It's always such organic network building of who starts helping who and then where you can find them, and people join and connect exactly for that. So reaching everyone and reorganizing is just... really hard!

But we can all understand it bc, yah, it's basically the exact same way the art community functions too. Even if you want to go somewhere: if the support isn't there, and you can't meet up with your mutual/network, what do you do? Exist in a void? So it just takes time for people to move & adjust.

Anyway, I'm kind of venting too because I've seen a lot of people yelling, and ppl trying to explain to them, and the yellers keep trying to dunk. And it's like "hey friend, if it's not your world, maybe just take a moment to listen. It's probably even the easiest part of being an ally."
