Wow, with sensitivity this acute, separating out every other potential source would be no easy matter. I would guess this has a lot to do with scale and density of the sensor network, identifying a wide spread pattern.

Sometimes I swear I feel the ground rumbling now and then but my partner never feels it, either. I can’t figure out if it’s just my brain being weird and making me paranoid or if sometimes I just am hyper sensitive to things. Drives me nuts sometimes!

Amazing to see ripples move across the continent like that. Small point: Do seismologists commonly use micro-cm/s for a velocity unit (as in the bottom graph), because that is a peculiar unit.

The unit is often in meters or nanometers with an appropriate scale factor. In particular with these plots, it's in a unit that makes the seismogram look good and avoids a scale factor.

Each dot is a seismic station—red 🔴 means the ground moved up, blue 🔵 means it moved down.

Seismic waves from earthquakes travel both through and around the Earth. Far from the source, these motions aren’t felt by people, but sensitive seismic instruments still pick them up.

It's actually how they knew the moon would ring like a bell, after being hit with a couple of used spacecraft. Laser ranging targets were used to measure the distance to the moon with a very high degree of accuracy.
