State lawmakers are looking to restrict how homeschool families can use vouchers (which amount to about $7K in taxpayer funds annually per kid) after education department data showed 56% of the money last year wasn't used on education-related items.

The restriction would mean only 25% can be spent on transportation, and another 25% on extracurriculars like horseback riding. The remaining 50% has to be spent on actual educational activities. Trust parents, I guess.
