Great talk! It’s been so disheartening to see the dedicated press being shut out more and more. I don’t think many realize how hard it really is to get information now. Crossing my fingers the next gen is ready to put in the hard work and hold government and industry accountable.

It genuinely worries me -- even simple requests are denied. There's no context anymore, there's no info we can offer the public and instead the public is being fed the narrative that news is lying and fake...meanwhile the public is being LOCKED out of being infromed by those very governments.

Not acknowledged, some garbled non answer, no reply to follow up questions — this week I asked to interview this department person who was quoted in a 2016 article (or whoever holds that position now) and was told department doesn’t speak for government anymore (I wasn’t asking them to)
