Its a possibility for tRump to grift. Perhaps TX can buy his "God bless the USA bibles"-they feature additional content.🙄. Because what is a little blasphemy among friends?
"God bless the USA bibles" printed in China for $3🤮
As well they should! At my church when we give Bibles to 3rd graders, the senior pastor always points out that there are R-rated parts in the Bible, and the kids should go find them and show their parents.
TBF a casual attitude to graphic violence and an absolute terror of sex and nudity is quintessentially American. You only have to look at movie age ratings to see that.
This was performative. The outcome was never in doubt; this was about appearing to treat both sides fairly when we all know that they won't. Gotta follow the process, y'know? Sigh.
I agree it was performative, but I took it as the school district and/or superintendent trying to make a point against the overall law. he urged people to contact the legislature about it

"We want the bible... No, not that bible..."
There is an exception for some, but only some, religions’ texts.
So, it’s OK that the Bible is sexually explicit beyond what would be acceptable if written by contemporary authors .
