New blog post! This is a question that really annoys me anytime I get asked it, but instead of focusing on the absurdity of the question itself, I decided to write about why I love composing for all different types of projects.

It seems such a silly question, but it made me think of a different question. Other than films and games, what other clients might hire a composer? TV shows? TV commercials?
I would think the opportunities for getting hired are rather limited, and the competition is likely plentiful in each case.
Yeah beyond games and films I’ve also written music for TV, commercials, podcasts, web series, twitch streams, and art exhibitions. You’re right though, it’s all very competitive regardless of medium!
Most of the podcasts I’ve worked on have hired me to compose the main theme so they have something unique for that, and then they’ll use library music anytime they need other music throughout! I would love to have the opportunity to fully score a podcast someday though, I think that’d be really fun

Since I love both visual art and music, I think composing for an art exhibition could be an especially fun gig. 😎
