1000% agree. There is so much drama between NJPW and AEW. They’re doing well to capitalize on it. The way Kenny operated throughout that performance is why I consider him the best all around wrestler in the world. Bret Hart levels of storytelling excellence.

I'm on the AEW "side" of the rivalry, but I was impressed by the story behind the match and Gabe Kidd's ring gear, almost making me want Kidd to win. In some ways I think that maybe should have been the story.

Despite this being Omega's triumph over his illness and needing to prove himself.

That was a good match. It makes the future of New Japan the story. I think the crowd was really into it and Tanahasi look like he was going to cry. Omega won but he put Gabe Kidd over.

I love AEW. But AEW does not provide the environment for this.

It doesn't mean NJPW is better or AEW is better or anything.

It's just reality. This is peak wrestling for me.

American TV wrestling will never be Japanese puroresu. The culture and the rhythms are not the same. I am so grateful that performers who excel at both have opportunities to do so at a high level in a way that hasn't existed since the late 90's.

Setting aside the absolute magic of Omega vs Kidd, seeing Ricochet pull off a sadistic, blood heavy, heat angle on Dynamite and then tear it up in the main event at the Dome days later is significant. None of that exists in a global WWE monopoly.

I will continue to watch and love AEW. I will continue to hope that there are as many opportunities for Kenny Omega to do this magical thing he does.

And I will enjoy every moment of it until he retires, and retires as the greatest ever to do it in my life time.

We all have the things we like. The things we gravitate to.

This is my thing. Kenny Omega's post match comments tell a better story to me than any number of cars crashing into other cars.

It doesn't make it right or wrong. It's just what I personally find bliss in.
