I would say that pursuit of endless growth is killing the entertainment industry, but really, it's just killing the entertainment megacorporations. They'll keep laying people off, replacing them with AI clickbait garbage, people will stop engaging with it, and their growth slows even more.

Do not fall for the lies of c-suites. Not making enough money for endless growth goons is not “inherently unprofitable.” Media is very challenging, yes, but the vultures want you to believe these layoffs are inevitable and necessary.
