How long does it usually take you to make these? I always have this stupid thought in my head that pixel artists place each pixel by pixel in these for some reason.

you are not entirely wrong about the last part xd
to me, unless it's sketch or filling - it's all manual.
i was making those way longer back then - nowadays it takes a day or two if i'm REALLY doing it
i am not sure how much i spent on that, 10-12 hours total?? (week total, cuz i am distracted)
