Letterkenny was Crave's first streaming-only original series. Doubtful someone other than Crave would have gotten Shoresy.

I took him to mean that if Shomi had continued, would Letterkenny still have become popular enough to allow for the Shoresy spin-off to even exist

Ah...I don't know. I never really got into Shomi...or Crave for that matter until Letterkenny and Shoresy came along.

Maybe. Letterkenny had already started before Shomi was shut down, but who knows
