There are similarities between the history of POC in the US and dictatorship in central and eastern Europe in the 20th c. It's the arbitrariness of this sort of thing, of having done nothing wrong but being arrested anyway. When others don't protest they are showing power what it can do—to them.

They’re not in uniform because that’s how they do. They knew to stalk her because she co-wrote an op-ed and was then doxxed by extremists. Gonads? When there’s 5 of them and 1 of you, your immediate physical safety is likelier in not doing that.

I say this so folks understand… We got here over a long period of time, ignoring real fascist practices, because it was easy to ignore who they targeted.

This is another part of why “going back to normal” is futile, and ineffective. It’s why we have to envision what we CAN be without fascism.

I think that’s starting to become clear. I also think how we respond, how and what we choose to fight, influences what we can do and create on the other side. We can win this fight, if we fight. Knowing what we’re fighting to achieve, informs how we get there.
