A part of me believes that, it ties in to the kind of person you are. Kinda like that saying "birds of a feather flock together"

If you attract a lot of mean people and they stay there... there has to be something that you do in your community that keeps making them come back

Honestly I don't think there's any one answer for this. Some people only care about number go up so they'll accept anyone into their community; others have awful people in their community because those people actually do reflect their values.

If you're talking about vtubers specifically, my hot take is that a lot of them are young and don't have enough life experience to know how to manage a community or how to handle confrontation and haven't built themself a good safety net of mods that can help them with that.

i've always had this mentality... you can feel more fulfilled and make just as much money and have a solid relationship with your customers with having a smaller nicer community... numbers mean nothing if yu make you miserable

I look at my fav vtubers and they all have great communities and vibes

Then I look at other vtubers who blow up overnight due to drama and they're just always okay with the weirdos who flocked to them in defense
