lol why are you concerned about kids behavior towards the weird lies their parents told? Maybe if they’re afraid, they just have good sense for logic and reason.
To each his own. But their fear needs to be dealt with. I was taught that fairys are sweet like Tinkerbell. Pixies on the other hand..very naughty. Elves are mishievious but helpful..and trolls...well we dont go there. I was more afraid of dogs than fairy
Of course you weren’t afraid of faeries, you learned everything about folklore from Disney. The “real” fae of mythology are not to be fucked with, Red Caps, Fachan, Sluagh. A lot of people cope with fear by “disneyfying” scary things. Setting boundaries is a perfectly healthy way to deal with fear.
Are they afraid of santa easter bunny other things. My kids wernt afarid of a dam thing. Even me sometimes. Your statement is obvious but doesnt address the question.
Ok, so because YOU were taught differently, you feel they need to get over it. While I don’t have an issue with the tooth fairy because I never believed in her or Santa or any of the other myths we tell as a society, I fully get how it’s creepy that because a fae brakes in your home, it’s ok.
Well santa didnt come in my room or uninvited we left cookies...on purpose and he stayed in the living room. This is all stupid. Its a fairy. Bluey scares the sit outta me how kids like that crap i do not know.
Bingo! It's natural for a kid to NOT want a strange being coming into their bedroom and taking their body parts. It's actually a huge red flag if a parents wants to FORCE them to allow that. Same as forcing them to sit on the lap of a stranger dressed in red.
Sometimes they where when the fucked up. Yeah I diciplined my kids. One just retired Navy 2 tours in Afghanistan. One 15 years police dispatcher for major city in Texas..ones kimd of a bum...but shes not stupid.
I was not a gentle parent. It worked
Sometimes they where not afraid of the consequence..like not being able to use the blow dryer because they got in trouble. As children they did not fear tinkerbell santa the easter bunny. They had compassion for them.

But still thought Santa was kinda creepy, she didn't like old guy seeing her when sleeping.
What is fear in this sense?
