So they removed the black chairman of the Joint Chiefs in the middle of his 4-year tour, without cause, and they're seeking to replace him with a white **retired** Air Force three-star general who lacks the requisite experience as a service chief or combatant commander? Huh, how about that

Early on, a coworker said he thought the only reason I was hired was b/c I was a minority female and he told me b/c he realized it wasn't true - like it would make me happy to know. 🙄
Every day, there's more confirmation of what I've felt my whole life: Even those who aren't overtly racist or don't tell racist jokes etc. even unconsciously, hold some reserve tank in case things get rough, like now. Evidenced by
how quickly so many immediately jumped to "Well, we're white and Christian so we'll probably be OK" following the election.
Translation: "They'll come for Blacks/Latinos/Jews/Muslims and EVERYONE else before us so we can ride this out"
Sit with that.
When the not alls and not mes seek absolution by seeking validation...this is the thing that immediately comes to mind.
