The day they give equal weight to stories of "ordinary" schools having to raise funds for absolute basics is the day that I will start to give a nano-shit about these private school VAT stories.
Absolutely, if he wasnt married to royalty this rag wouldnt give him the time of day. Tindall wont be bothered cos he is one of the good guys but the Torygraph is really plumbing the depths
Perhaps because very private schools are like Eton, much like very few cars are a Bentley. The increase in VAT makes private schooling more of a privilege for the wealthy while the less well-off kids get taken out of schools in the middle of the school year. Oh well.
Labour said they would introduce VAT on school fees in January back in July. If the children are taken out of school mid year, that's the choice the parents made
They only Sqeezed into universities through clearing, my son got offers from all the universities he applied to. Private education isn't about education, its about making the right 'connections'.
It's all comes down to the quality of teaching. My son went to a good boys comprehensive. His 2 cousins went to expensive private school and teased him mercilessly about going to a state school. He got straight As in his GCSEs & A levels, they had to go to summer 'crammer' to improve their grades.
Agree, know many such cases. Also know teachers in private schools who tell me the problems of parents who believe paying entitles their children to top grades 🤷🏽♀️
