I draw small segments a bit at a time, being very careful to connect them, and use a pen with ink that doesn't bleed into paper. I also draw with the clipboard on my knees while I sit in a chair so I can bring the work closer to my face, letting me see where my pen connects with the paper.🥰

These are the first ones I've ever used and it's fairly new to me, but I'm loving it. I find I don't have to press hard to get good color saturation.
