Apparently, Mt. Mansfield, the tallest mountain in the state, has gotten at least 20" more of snow this year than normal. It's been great for the ski resorts. I don't ski but I'm happy for all the skiers.

Yeah, the ski area closest to us is approaching 300" snowfall this winter and 100" at the base. It's been a great ski year, even if we mostly cross-country ski.
There were at least two people out on skis in our neighborhood on Sunday! I did some cross-country skiing in high school for gym, and I liked it a lot better than downhill skiing, if only because falling was less scary when going cross-country.
Yeah, the pup and I will ski around town on mornings when we've got a few fresh inches and we can avoid the plows, including several times this week already. And the falls can certainly be softer than downhill, depending on conditions!
