I've already heard the Asperger Syndrome excuse. I've taught children with Asperger for over 25 years, and oddly, I've never had to say "Hey stop giving the Nazi salute!"

I've had it said to my son (10 and lvl 3 autism) but to be fair, he was doing a skit that was taking the piss out of Hitler and the teacher didn't understand the context. The skit he does is hilarious.
also aspergers syndrome was made by a pseudo-psychologist Karen who believed in the "supremacy" of certain autistic individuals. I was diagnosed with aspergers original, I did research on the term and its evil.
I read Tony Atwood's, The Complete Guide to Asperger's way back in 2018. After reading the book, I felt certain this fits my now 45 year old son. However when he was in grade school no such diagnosis was available, not even Autism, it didn't fit. Did not know Dr.Asperger was a Nazi, thanks for info.
Apologies if I made it seem I was singling you out, that was not my intention. More a broader comment.
The levels are an issue too for many Autistic people... if we just call it autism or "being autistic" then a lot of those issues are circumvented.
What was formerly called Asperger Syndrome now falls under Autism Spectrum Disorder. It's a Level 1 ASD. It was changed to distance it from its namesake, who was a Nazi and first to study people with autism. Often inhumanely. As a teacher of students with special needs I felt the need to clarify.
there are no levels, its just another BS classification made by outdated pseudo-scientists. The levels LITERALLY think an autistic individual who is just nonverbal is level 3 the supposed worst of the worst.
Oh, I completely agree with that. I wouldn't expect those on the right to do that though. They need a label for every difference which is why they tried to used it for an excuse for that miserable human Leon
I mean the whole reason levels are still kept is for the pseudo-scientists. a good chunk of "therapies" for autism have no requirements to do, as in people without degrees nor understanding of autism can commit these tortures on innocents. You can't even level a spectrum, it has no distinct sides.

I taught a drama class with special needs students. During free improv, none ever became a nazi
